The Refuge Food Forest is a new collaborative project between University of Illinois Extension and the Town of Normal. This community resource covers one acre of land within One Normal Plaza. One hundred volunteers have helped plant over 2,500 plants at this site. The plantings contain a diverse mix of fruit trees, shrubs, grape vines, cane fruit, herbs, asparagus, rhubarb and native flowers. The fruit produced by these plants is free and available for anyone to pick and eat.
