About Me
Bukowski Short Resume 2016 This is a shortened version of my resume. Contact me for details on any of the work I have done.
I am a PhD candidate at Virginia Tech in the College of Natural Resources and the Environment- Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation concentrating in Human Dimensions and Collaborative Community Leadership.
My research is dedicated to profiling community food forests across the United States to better understand the successes and challenges in the management of both the vegetative and social components. My hope is that the research will lead to best practices for future initiatives in this emerging trend in resilient communities. I am scheduled to finish my dissertation in May 2017. I will try to keep the website updated periodically until then.
I am currently involved in designing, installing and learning first hand about a community food forest at my local YMCA Community Garden. When not doing that or writing, I try to be out hiking in beautiful Southwest Virginia with my loved ones.
If you are involved in a community food forest, please feel free to contact me to share your information or find out more about my research.
